Vincent T Jaimes is an ambitious dreamer who loves writing stories about anything that pops into his head. This includes an eclectic mix of fantastic adventures based in an ever expanding variety of science fiction, mystery, action and humour. He admits to a varied source of inspiration stretching back to black and white versions of Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker as Doctor Who (inducing several incidents of sofa hiding) and onto his later obsession with Blakes 7 that resulted in him giving up Cub-Scouts so that he didn't miss an episode.

His first major read was Lord of the Rings - that took him 3 weeks aged 10 - and then followed a procession of the usual and unusual suspects - King, Moorcock, Asimov, Adams, Dick, Swift, Dumas, Dickens, Herbert, Anderson, Tzu, Milne, Carroll, Gaiman, Milligan and Shakespeare - all of whom he kneels at the feet of, acknowledging their ubiquitous superiority and idiosyncratic style in footwear.

Occasionally he pens children’s tales incorporating his close friends The Magic Badgers - an invention created for his young children to explain all the normal things that just happen with a magical twist. Unfortunately for his family and particularly his now teenage kids it still remains his go-to explanation of all things not worthy of a Wikipedia entry.

Eventually he wants to get all of his ideas into published stories but suspects he may need a couple of lifetimes. Obviously it would be handy to be reincarnated as himself.

When he is not scribbling ideas for his next book he is creating lights and clocks from re-purposed odds and ends in his garage, appropriately and ostentatiously named the Vincent T Jaimes Workshop. Most of the parts stem from his quiet obsession with cars, motorcycles and creative mechanical devices. A love of which extends to him being a sofa fan of motorsport and in contrast a Rugby Union follower.

His alter ego is an uninteresting working man in a factory who only appears during the daytime however his past has included more interesting experiences as a Silversmith, a business owner, farmer and a handmade soap maker. If he had a choice he would abandon the factory and spend his time writing and messing around in his workshop. In the mean time he has the advantage of a great family and an extraordinary wife – one day he really does hope to have the best of both worlds.
