I imagine stories that don't sit still. One shelf holds science fiction, another crime, another a children's tale, and somewhere in between there's a book about ordinary life, laced with a little humour and a few hard-won lessons. My first novel, The Globus Project, is out now, with several more in progress, including its sequel, Six.
My influences run wide: Asimov and Philip K. Dick for big ideas, Douglas Adams and Lewis Carroll for absurdity, King and Herbert for unease, Tolkien and Neil Gaiman for whole worlds built from words, and A.A. Milne and L. Ron Hubbard rounding out the mix.
Before writing, I built a career in manufacturing and operations across the world — experience that quietly shapes every book I write.
Off the page, I enjoy making 'things' in wood, metal, and stone and lately 3D printing. I'm a fan of rugby, motor racing, and boxing and I'm devoted to my amazing life partner and fiancé along with my fabulous parents. I'm very proud of my grown up children and am truly grateful for the few true best friends I call family.
